Endoscopic Forehead Lift Surgery

Defined Tag:

An endoscopic forehead lift surgery is usually done to tighten or remove the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing and drooping of the forehead and minimize the frown lines. If you are considering an endoscopic forehead lift surgery, you should understand the merits of having the procedure done in this way  – when a tube-shaped probe is inserted through three tiny inclusions at the hairline to permit the surgeon to see and perform the entire procedure. Typically, endoscopic forehead lift surgery involves less postoperative swelling, bruising, scarring and discomfort. Most forehead lifts are performed under local anesthesia, combined with a sedative, depending on patience preference and the amount of surgery needed.

In addition, you should also address the possibility that a surgically corrected forehead may look out of sync with the rest of your face since, in some cases, it will look more taut and less lined than other areas. For this reason, forehead lifts are often performed in conjunction with a full face-lift. In this way, your entire face appears smoother and more youthful, rather than one region. This necessity for having additional surgery may be the deal breaker for you or you may decide to go for it all. Another possibility is that you decide that you are so bothered by your forehead that you don’t care if it looks younger than the rest of your face.

Healing time varies from person to person but downtime may include swelling in the forehead, cheeks, and eyes for about a week along with numbness on the top of the scalp. As the nerves heal, the numbness is generally replaced by itching, which may last for as long as six months. Patients who go through endoscopic forehead lift surgery; usually experience less of the numbness and itching than classic forehead lift patients. Some of the hair around your inclusion may fall out and may temporarily be a bit thinner, but normal growth usually resumes within a few weeks or months. Permanent hair loss is an extremely rare, though possible, complication arising from an endoscopic forehead lift surgery.
